Funeral services for James "Cotton" D. Haynes, age 73, will be 12:00 PM Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Rev. Hank Williams will officiate.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Painesville. Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM before services.

"Cotton" James D. Haynes was born February 15, 1943 in Jonesville, Virginia and passed away January 20, 2017 at Lake West Hospital in Willoughby.

He is survived by his son, Scott Haynes and grandchildren David, Andrew, and Nicholas of Painesville & son, Allen (Monica) Haynes and grandchildren Austin, Destiny, and Peyton of Geneva; sister, Emily of Elwood, IN; and loving, live in life partner, Betty Shelton of Painesville.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Tyde and Nancy (Napper) Haynes
