James T. Higgins, age 74, passed away August 10, 2023, in Mentor.  He was born June 2, 1949, in Cleveland to James A. and Bernice (Nelson) Higgins.

James spent his entire career working at Catalano's Stop-n-Shop before he retired.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, having cookouts, watching all sports, especially The Guardians, and golfing.  He also enjoyed listening to music, sitting outside, and going to church festivals.

James is survived by his children, John Vondrick (Andrea Gordon), Vanessa (Randy) Shockey, Jason (Laura) Vondrick, Katie Nero, Paul Higgins, and Jaime (Jason) Perry; grandchildren, Bailey Higgins, Jake Vondrick, Leia Vondrick, Kira Vondrick and Joseph Vondrick; great grandchild, Miley Gedeon; sister-in-law, Carolee Higgins.

He was preceded in death by his brother, William Patrick Higgins, and his parents.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 8560 Mentor Avenue, Mentor, Ohio.  Friends will be received 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Friday, August 18th at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.
