James Michael "Mike" Fitzgerald, age 88, passed away November 15, 2021, after a brief illness. He was a life-long Painesville resident born June 28, 1933, to John and Carolyn (Stewart) Fitzgerald.

Mike served in the United States Navy from 1951 through 1954.  After serving, he returned home where he worked for the Union Sand Company and later Osborne, Inc. in material sales. When he retired in 2001 he enjoyed working in his yard, golfing, and spending time with his family.

Mike is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean (Dusek) Fitzgerald; son, Sean (Michelle) Fitzgerald; daughter, Molly (John) Oswalt; sister, Carol Kropac; sister-in-law Margaret Dusek;  grandchildren, Sarah and Zach Mudore, Jacob Oswalt, Catherine Mary and Michael Fitzgerald.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  sister, Fay Wayner and brother, John Joseph.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am,  Saturday, November 20th, 2021, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9935 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Concord Township, Ohio PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH . Family and friends will be received, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, November 19th at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike's memory may be sent to the St. Gabriel Food Pantry c/o of the Church.
