Merilyn "Jan" Mussig, age 79, passed away February 18, 2022, at Regency Hospital Cleveland East in Warrensville Heights, OH.  She was born July 3, 1942, in Akron, OH to John L. Thomas of Barberton, OH and Enid Eisenberg Frost of Canton, OH.

Jan was the owner and manager of Avenue Food & Beverage in Wickliffe for many years.  She was a member of St. Gabriel Church and the Fairport Harbor Senior Center, where she was a volunteer.

Jan enjoyed gardening, bird watching and connecting on social media with her many friends.  She always had smile and a kind word and was universally loved by her large family and friends.

Jan is survived by her husband of 61 years, Kenneth Mussig; sons, Michael & wife Cathy Mussig, Scott Mussig,  Jeff Mussig; half  brothers Matthew, Mark & Paul Thomas, grandchildren; Robert Mussig, Ashley McGowan (Mussig), Steven Mussig, Krystal Martin (Mussig), Samantha Dalton (Mussig), John Mussig, Cindy McPherson, along with several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Enid and her beloved brother, Lawrence "LT" Thomas.

Friends will be received, 4:00-6:00 PM. Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 24th at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Concord Cemetery.
