Janice Marie Sidley (Jan) of Mentor, Ohio born September 24th, 1937 in Thompson, Ohio; daughter of Robert W. and Edith Sidley. Sister to Robert C. Sidley, Carolyn Martin, Arthur Sidley and Joseph Sidley.

Jan embraced farm life until the family moved to a quarry site and the former home of General Casement in Painesville, Ohio. 4-H became a passion while raising steer and spending summers in preparation for the Lake County Fair. At age 14 Jan received her flying certification and jumped in a Piper Cub flying solo! Jan grew to be a bright and beautiful young lady, capturing "Queen of the Furrow".

Jan attended Lake Erie College in Painesville, then transferred to the University of Florida in Gainesville. She met an married Robert R. Buescher. The family spent their formative years in Columbus Ohio.

Jan had a professional counseling career at Willowridge/Laurelwood Rehab facility in Willoughby, Ohio. Jan painted portrait and still-life oils, building a bridge to her successful business in interior design. These talents made her an ideal volunteer at St. Gabriel's Arts & Enviorment Committee in Mentor, Ohio. She spent countless hours making every event at the church a top priority. Jan's eye for the Holiday decor will be missed.

She served on the RW Sidley, Inc. Board of Directors and employment at the family business making sure employees had the benefits they needed, serving as (Employee Assistance Program) Director. Jan touched the lives of many in a meaningful way.

Her last endeavor was her cookie business! Granny's Gluten Free cookies lined the shelves of Heinen's grocery stores in Mentor and Chardon, Ohio locations. Jan single handedly baked over 50,000 cookies to delight the sweet tooth of many who need gluten free indulgence.

Jan leaves a legacy of family around a table of fine food, with love topping the priority list. Joy, love and encouragement mark the aroma she leaves to us all.

Janice Marie Sidley is survived by her six children. Robert (Bev) Buescher, and children Brad, Lauren and Zack. Carolyn (Richard) Woodham, and daughter Moriah. Alfred (Christy) Buescher, and daughters Halle and Meredith. Janny (Shane) Sims and son Cooper. Jackie (John) Wilson and children Cyrus, Andrew and Cameron. Bridget (Ryan) Dunbar

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:00 am at St. Gabriel Catholic Church 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Rd. Concord Twp. Ohio. Family and friends may call from 1-4 pm and 6-8 pm Sunday at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave. Painesville. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery Painesville.
