Jean Elizabeth Brooks (nee Rigby), 75, of Mentor passed away on April 1, 2017 at the Western Reserve Hospice House in Cleveland.

She was a generous and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  As a long-time member of St. Gabriel's Parish, Jean gave much of her time to her church community.  She was an active volunteer with the Christ Child Society, and spent many years with the Heavenly Dusters who kept the St. Gabriel's church spotless.  Jean was also active in her civic community, and many voters in Mentor would have seen her working the polls on election days.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, William Brooks; sons, Kevin (Dawn), Keith, Kyle (Christine), Kirt (Rebecca), and Kregg (Diane).  She was the cherished grandmother of Jessica, Tiffany, Kimberly, Evelyn, Genevieve, Hugo and Tallulah, as well as the great-grandmother of Corinne, Devin, Gabby and William.

Jean is also survived by her sisters, Ruth Ann (Michael) Neroda and Barbara (Kenneth) Schraufl; brother, Thomas (Jolene) Rigby; and by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Lucille Rigby; sisters, Charlotte, Patricia, and Madelyn; brother, Jack.

Visitation will be held at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, OH on Friday, during the hours of 2-4 and 6-8 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Rd., Concord on Saturday at 10:00 AM.  Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery following the service.
