Obituary

Private graveside services were held for Jeannette M. Gasper, age 91, at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville, Ohio, on Monday, January 11th. Jeannette was born the daughter of George and Catherine (Piehota) Augustitus on February 15, 1924, in West Hazelton, Pennsylvania, and passed away on January 8, 2016, at Heather Hill Nursing Home in Chardon. Jeannette retired as the chief laboratory technician for Lake County Memorial Hospitals in 1977. An avid reader and letter-writer, she always liked to keep up with the news from her hometown of West Hazelton. She was a graduate of West Hazelton High School and the Franklin School of Science in Philadelphia. Mrs. Gasper was preceded in death by her husband, retired Painesville City Police Chief George G. Gasper, in 2009, and by her sister, Emily (Titus) Pinkney, in 1986. She is survived by Robert and Linda Titus and three grand-nieces.
