Funeral services for Joan J. Chapman-Smith. a Perry resident, will be11:00 AM, Friday, February 9th at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.  Family and friends may call 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 8th at the funeral home.

Joan was born January 24, 1933 in Perry to Orland and Gladys (Foster) Cross.  She passed away February 5, 2018 at her residence.

Joan was owner/operator of Chapman Vault Company for many years and was a member of Perry Christian Church.  She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting and ceramics.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Smith; children, Richard (Linda) Chapman, Connie Chapman and Scott (Kris) Chapman; grandchildren, Kelly (Eric) Johnston, Nicole (Sanjay) Parker, Jacob (Kallan Hinkle) McConkey, Aaron Kershaw, Ryan (Jen) Kershaw, Chad Kershaw, Sean Chapman, Kayla (Bryson Beck) Chapman and Lani Layman; sister, Betty Sines.

Joan was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard "Skip" Chapman in 1983; parents; sisters, Edna Brown, Mary Coy, Barbara Pudder and Ida Brewster.
