Jody Marie Moroz, age 62, of Concord Township, Ohio, peacefully entered into eternal rest at her home on July 28, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of those who cherished her. She was born on July 7, 1964, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Nicholas M. Moroz and Jeannette (Shula) Moroz.

Jody was a lifelong believer in the value of education and dedicated herself to academic excellence. She graduated from Mentor Lake Catholic High School before earning her bachelor's degree from Kent State University and her Master of Business Administration from Lake Erie College. She later fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming an attorney by earning her Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, finishing third in her graduating class.

Throughout law school, Jody distinguished herself through her exceptional work ethic and legal scholarship. Her many academic honors included the Distinguished Student Award, five Certificates of Merit in Torts I, Civil Procedure II, Property II, and Family Law, as well as the prestigious Shane Joseph Johnson Scholarship Award. These accomplishments reflected not only her intelligence but also her determination, perseverance, and commitment to excellence.

Jody began her legal career serving with the Michigan Court of Appeals, where she developed a strong foundation in the law. She later practiced with several law firms before returning to her home state of Ohio to continue her legal career. She was respected by colleagues for her integrity, thoughtful judgment, and dedication to serving others through the legal profession.

Outside of her professional life, Jody possessed an extraordinary love for animals, especially cats. She devoted countless hours to rescuing, nurturing, and caring for those in need. Her beloved companions—Lucky Joe, Justice, and Licorice I, II, and III—were much more than pets; they were treasured members of her family. Her compassion for animals reflected the kindness and generosity that defined her character.

Above all, Jody will be remembered for her caring heart, quiet strength, sharp intellect, and unique sense of humor. She had a compassionate spirit that touched the lives of family, friends, colleagues, and everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her warmth, loyalty, and unwavering love for her family will remain a lasting legacy.

Jody is lovingly survived by her mother, Jeannette Moroz; her brothers, Greg (Pam) Moroz, Gerald Moroz, and Christopher Moroz; and her sister, Jill Schneller. She also leaves behind her cherished nieces, Alecia Bronder and Lauren (Lamont) Moyes; nephews Ryan Schneller, Matthew Schneller, Eric Schneller, Benjamin Moroz, Timothy Moroz, and Braden Moroz; great-nieces Lizzy Llanos, Maria Schneller, Lola Bronder, and Oakley Bronder; and great-nephew Levy Moyes, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Nicholas M. Moroz, who passed away in 2009.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Jody's legacy of compassion, perseverance, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local humane society or animal rescue organization in Jody's memory, honoring her lifelong devotion to the care and protection of animals.
