John James Austin Jr., age 52, passed away September 22, 2023, at his residence in Madison.  He was born March 14, 1971, in Willoughby to John and Mary Jo (Stein) Austin.

John worked for the United States Postal Service and served as Postmaster of the Ashtabula post office for many years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and darts.  Holidays were very important to him.

John is survived by his wife, Melanie (Hoskins) Austin; daughters, Breanna Austin and Anneli Curnock; mother, Mary Jo Austin; sisters, Christine Ranno and Susan Matejcic.

He was preceded in death by his father, John.

Friends will be received 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.

Rather than flowers, the family suggests contributions to Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital.
