John Farrell, 85, died Sept. 13, 2023, at Madison Healthcare, where he had lived for the past three years.

He was born Aug. 22, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio to Lloyd and Reva (Davis) Farrell.  He and his late wife, Sandra, had lived in Concord Township for more than 40 years.

John served in the United States Army from 1961-1964 and The Army Reserves until 1967.

He and Sandy had been involved with 4-H clubs with their niece, Kelly. They enjoyed taking her to horse shows in the region for several years.

He was employed at various jobs including J.C. Penney's and Lintern. He worked for many years at Ametco in Willoughby and retired at age 70.

Survivors are his niece, Kelly Fredriks, her husband, Chris and sons, Dreas and Gavyn; sister-in-law Sharon Mazeika and her husband, Marty; and friend, Frank Harrison of Johnstown, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra, on Dec. 28, 2022: and his parents.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Painesville, Ohio.
