John Robert Gill, 86, of Punta Gorda, Fla., went peacefully to his heavenly home on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte. He was born July 12, 1928, to John J and Alice (Jenkins) Gill in Painesville, Ohio. John (Bob) served in the Army from 1948 – 53, most with the Wire Operation Company, 17th Signal Operation Battalion, in Germany where met his bride, Elizabeth.
