Obituary

John R. Knack Jr., age 80, peacefully passed away January 18th, 2021 at his residence in Concord Township.  He was born June 30th, 1940 in Port Jervis, New York to John Richard Knack and Marion (Shaffer) Knack.

John proudly served his country as a United States Marine.  John was retired from his career as a Captain with the Euclid Police Department.  At the time of his retirement in 1995 John was honored as the most highly decorated officer in the history of the department.  He was an avid sportsman and very accomplished marksman earning the highest honors of "Presidents 100" and "Governor's 20".   He also enjoyed gardening, daily card games with his wife and breakfast with friends.  He was a people person who liked to joke, tease and laugh with everyone he met or knew.

John is survived by his wife Roseanne (Bezzeg) Knack, whom he married in 1962; children, Sharon (Bruce) Fedor, Steve (Jacqueline) Knack, Karen Knack, J. Gregory (Kristy) Knack and Michael (Debbie) Knack.  Grandchildren, Kayla Reinhold, Samantha and Noelle Martz, Thade Fedor, Kevin and Britney Laux, Charlie, Clara, Victoria, Emily and Michael Knack, and four great granddaughters.  He also leaves behind his brothers in blue and a lifetime of meaningful friendships.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lucinda Gregory; grandson, Ryan Laux and his treasured dog, Domino.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
