Attorney John E. Shoop, 71 passed away July 17, 2014 in Sisters, Oregon. He was born June 6, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pa. John lived most of his life in Painesville, Ohio. His career included several positions in Lake County Government. The most notable was the Lake County Prosecutor from 1976-1988. John was very active in many civic and Catholic organizations. He is survived by his wife, Wendy (nee Lewis), brother Joseph (Christine), niece Jessica, nephew Jonathan (Bridgit), grand nephew Elijah Walders and grand niece Ella Walders. John was preceded in death by his parents Esper and Lilia (nee Venturella) Shoop. Friends will be received from 4PM – 8PM Friday August 8, 2014 at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio 44077 Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday August 9, 2014 at 10:00AM.
