John Urbas, age 89, passed away June 15, 2026, in Painesville, Ohio. He was born January 13, 1937, in Cleveland to Frank Urbas and Mary (Kuhar) Urbas.

John worked at LeWayne's Flowers & Greenhouse for many years. Then he moved to Dorset where he had many animals, goats, rabbits, and more. We brought him home to the area 16 years ago and he was in a nursing home until his death. He brought much joy to his family and nurses with his humor. He graduated from Mentor High along with his 10 brothers and sisters.

John is survived by his brothers, James (Donna) Urbas of Mentor and Raymond (Cheryl) Urbas; sisters, Rosie Derk and Margaret Pancher, as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank Urbas Jr., Donald Urbas and Anthony Urbas; sisters, Janet Hanzak, Mary Ann Koerper and Joanne Brawner.

Friends will be received 1:00 PM -3:00 PM, Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM. Burial will be at Mentor Cemetery.
