Private funeral services for Joseph Richard Tkac Jr. will be held at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.

Mr. Tkac was born February 10, 1945, in Cleveland to Joseph R. Sr. and Margaret Tkac.  He passed away April 26, 2018, in Mentor.

Joseph was a graduate of Benedictine High School and received his Bachelor's Degree in Spanish from John Carroll University.   He served in the Peace Corps, in Costa Rica for three years.  He was an elementary school teacher for Cleveland Public Schools for 35 years.

Joseph was an American Legion Baseball Most Valuable Player and was coached by Bob Feller.  He loved to play golf, gardening and animals.  But most important in his life was his family, especially his grandchildren…he loved spending time with them.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol (Gabrenya) Tkac; daughters, Victoria Tkac and Sarah (Dino) Diorio; grandchildren, Rocco James Diorio, Lily Mae Diorio, Kaidin Joseph Moore; and his fine companions, Teddy and William.
