Juanita Irene Sanders Rhodes, age 83, of Painesville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 1, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born August 7, 1940 in Rhodell, WV to Coy and Lena (Bolen) Sanders and went to Stoco High School. She married Bobby Lee Rhodes in Rhodell, WV on August 10, 1957.
Juanita is survived by her daughters: Tammey (Ronald) Nicholson, Terrie (Bob) Machen, Theresa Kipp, and Tracie (David) Crim; grandchildren: John (Danielle) Wolford, Jr., Robert Wolford, Nicole Merando, Micaela (Timothy) Apodaca, Joshua Kipp, Kaitlyn Kipp, Emily Crim, and Ryan Crim; great grandchildren: Logan Wolford, Benjamin Wolford, Amelia Wolford, and Oliver Apodaca; siblings: Bob Sanders, Raynell (Stuart) Bossler, Patricia (Gary) Hamilton, Douglas (Kathy) Sanders, and Jeffrey (Carolyn) Sanders; brother-in-law: Bill (Jo-Ann) Rhodes; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother: Pete, sister: Joyce, sister and brother-in-law: Collette and William Lynn, sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Frankie and Charles Hughes, sister-in-law: Eula Sanders, and son-in-law: John Wolford, Sr. The amount of love Juanita had for her family was immeasurable. She also loved the Lord and was a member of Painesville Baptist Church. After retiring from Tartan Marine, she enjoyed reading, painting, playing the piano, serving God, and outings with her husband.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley, WV. Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home is assisting the family. Her daughters, the 4 Ts (as Mom called us), would like to thank her clinical care teams at The Lantern of Madison Svayus and Hospice of the Western Reserve for their compassion and kindness. They not only cared for our mom but for us too. You are angels on earth and will always have a special place in our hearts!
