Obituary

Kevin James Burkey Sr., age 53, of Painesville, Ohio, passed away on October 12, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love that will forever be cherished by all who knew him. Born on October 31, 1972, Kevin was the beloved son of the late Arletta (Sweeny) and David Burkey. Kevin was a hardworking man who dedicated many years to manufacturing at SKRL. He enjoyed working with his hands and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. If something needed fixing or someone needed help, Kevin was the kind of person people could always count on. Kevin enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved hunting, fishing, bowling, cheering on his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, gambling, and sitting around a bonfire surrounded by family and friends. He had a special way of turning these moments into lasting memories. Above all, Kevin had a generous heart and would do anything for the people he cared about. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others will never be forgotten. Kevin leaves behind his loving children, Amber (Rogerlee) Miller, Sarah (Kash) Rosier, Dylan, Kevin Jr., and Amelia, as well as his three cherished grandchildren, Paisley, Chloe, and Levi, who will carry his memory in their hearts forever. He is also survived by his siblings, Keith Burkey, Margo (Abimael) Santiago, and Diana (Juan) Rosario, along with many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends. Kevin was preceded in death by his loving parents, Arletta and David Burkey, and his brothers, David S. Burkey, John C. Burkey, and Mark A. Burkey. Although Kevin’s passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, his memory will live on through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love he gave so freely. His family will forever cherish the memories of bonfires, fishing trips, family gatherings, and all the little moments that made him who he was. A father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Kevin was loved by many and will be missed beyond words. Though we wish we had more time with him, we will hold on to the memories, the lessons, and the love he leaves behind. Rest peacefully, Kevin. Until we meet again. ❤️🕊️ Funeral service arrangements will be announced by the family.
