Larry A. Hites, age 83, passed away July 10, 2022 at Tripoint Medical Center in Concord, Ohio.  He was born February 4, 1939 to William and Fannie (White) Hites.

Larry worked for many years at Perfection Corporation in Madison, Ohio retiring in 2006. He was a master craftsman and thoroughly enjoyed working with wood.  He built furniture, cabinets, and rocking horses for his grandchildren.  He loved sports and was a founding member of Madison Youth Football.  He coached in the youth leagues of Madison for many years.  He treated each of the kids he coached like they were one of his own.  His patience and care is something we could all learn from.  He was quick with his wit and knew just when to use it.  He was also a veteran who served in the US Marine Corp and instilled his discipline, humor, and love of the country to his children.

Larry is survived by his wife Linda (Sprankle), sons: Thomas Hites (Marsha), Brian Hites, and Gerald (Amy) Hites, Mike (Shelly) Horvath.  He is also survived by his step-children Bryan (Shari) Sprankle, Shirley (Frank) Slemc and Wendy (Mike) Lengyel, Sister, Barbara Gast, Step-brothers Raymond Cowles, Russell Cowles, Richard Cowles, David Cowles, Step-sister Susan (Donald) Mack and twenty-one grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, first wife Barbara Hites, sister Faye Bard, half-brother Robert Cowles, and step-daughter Shannon Sprankle.

Friends will be received Thursday, July 14th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 312 Eagle Street, Fairport Harbor, Ohio.
