Obituary

Mass of Christian Burial for Louis B. Horvath age 80 of Grand River will be Wednesday at 9:30 am at St. Mary Church 242 North State St. Painesville. Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 7:30 -9:00 pm Tuesday at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave Painesville. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery Painesville Born September 29, 1933 in Painesville Passed away August 9, 2014 at his home Lou worked at the former Diamond Shamrock and retired from Towmotor/Caterpillar in Mentor. He established the Barrier Security System Company in 1964. He was a member of the Grand River Zoning Board and the Grand River Port Authority. He was one of the founding members of the Painesville Twp. Fire Department and was the Grand River Fire Chief for over 30 years . He was a 1952 graduate of Riverside High School. He belonged to B.P.O.E. # 549 in Painesville and the Hungarian Culture Club in Fairport Harbor, and was a former member of the Lake County Art Association. He was a water color artist who enjoyed painting. Survivors: Wife Margaret (Bates) Horvath whom he married on July 19, 1975 Children Robert Horvath of Mentor David Horvath of Pittsburgh PA Diane Carrel of Perry Karen (Charles) Reynolds of Willowick Melissa Horvath of Concord Twp. Grand Children Brandy Beres, Jonathan Horvath, Zack Reynolds, Jacob Reynolds, Katie Carrel, Cory Reynolds, Breanna Mona, Patrick Mona, Cassie Heeter and Alexandra Reynolds Great Grand Children Austin and Ashlee, Sister Betty (Timothy) Brennan, Sister in Law Annette (Gary) Miller Close friends Bob and Barbara Sutch Preceded in death by his parents Louis and Elizabeth (Sheterom) Horvath , Brother Donald Horvath, Son in Law's Richard Carrel, Brian D' Abate.
