A Memorial Mass for Margaret Mary "Birdie" Gergely, age 96, will be 2:00 pm Saturday, May 22, 2021 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnny Cake Ridge Road, Concord Township.  Friends will be received from 1:00 until time of services, at the church.

A lifetime resident of Painesville, Margaret was born on December 17, 1924 to Frank B. and Carrie (Pelluch) Naylor and passed away on May 14, 2021 at her residence. She was a graduate of Thomas W. Harvey High School.

A homemaker, Birdie was a member of St. Gabriel Church, where she served as a Heavenly Duster for over 50 years.  She also was a member of the Fairport Harbor V.F.W. Post 7754, Auxiliary. Birdie's greatest love and joy was caring for her family.

Mrs. Gergely is survived by her daughters, Janet Merrick and Mary Ann Gergely.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John in 1998; daughter, Susan Gergely; and siblings, Paul Naylor and Phyllis Wilkens.
