Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret Jane (Walkup) O'Leary, age 87, will be 10:00 AM, Friday, May 26th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 242 North State St., Painesville.  Family and friends may call Thursday, May 25th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, OH.  Interment will take place at a later date.

Mrs. O'Leary was born to Harry and Mary Amelia (von Beseler) Walkup on October 20, 1929 in Painesville.  She passed away May 22, 2017 at Lake West Hospital in Willoughby.

Margaret was a life-long Painesville resident, a graduate of Thomas W. Harvey High School and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.  She served on St. Mary's Finance Council and was also a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis.  She worked for Lake Co. National Bank/Chase Bank as an executive secretary for many years.

Margaret enjoyed reading, rooting for Ohio State and all the Cleveland professional teams and traveling with her husband, Bernie, to Navy ship reunions.  She loved visiting her family, who were most important to her.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Henry (Pamela) O'Leary of Painesville, Patrick Bernard (Michael Preaseau) O'Leary of Sebastopol, CA., Christopher John (Kendra) O'Leary of Concord Township, Thomas Kevin O'Leary of Los Angeles, CA., Joseph Edward (Rhonda) O'Leary of Eureka, CA., and James Robert (Laura) O'Leary of Concord Township; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Park Walkup of Palm Springs, CA.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard T. O'Leary in 2011; her parents; and sister, Nancy Webb.
