Marie (Heffron) Avena, age 92, passed away March 13, 2021 at Tri-Point Medical Center in Concord Township.  She was born February 18, 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to  Edward and Catherine (Shaw) Heffron.

Marie worked for Roy George Music and Vending for many years.  She was a member of the Painesville and Fairport Senior Citizen Centers and the Red Hat Society.  She enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Linda Freeman; son, John Avena Jr.; grandchildren, John Avena III and Jessica Lawson; great grandchildren, Kacie Lawson, Kristin Lawson, Kimberly Lawson, Caitlyn Avena and Joseph Avena; brothers, Edward Heffron; sisters, Catherine Kincaid.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Avena in 2019; parents; sister, Amelia Barnes; and son -in-law, Martin Freeman brother Robert Heffron, sister, Margaret Lipscomb

Private Graveside services were held in Concord Cemetery.
