Martin L. "Marty" Branovic, age 73, passed away May 2, 2023, at Tri Point Medical Center in Concord Township.  He was born November 19, 1949, in Euclid, Ohio to Ralph and Margaret (Rickard) Branovic.

Marty was a retired police officer.  He began his career as a patrol officer in Painesville on July 1, 1973.  Her served as a patrol Sergeant and later, a shift Lieutenant.  He retired on October 22, 2000, as the dayshift Lieutenant.   Marty will be remembered fondly by those who worked with him, as a compassionate boss who had the respect of the community and the department.  He was also known to have some legendary humorous briefings.  He will truly be missed.

Marty is survived by his wife, Cynthia "Cindy" (Palecek) Branovic; daughter, Melissa (Tom) Mix and son, Mark Branovic; sister, Jean (Bruce) Tartaglione.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Lou Meditz.

Friends will be received 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Monday, May 8, 2023, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 9th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 242 North State Street in Painesville. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.
