Mary "Betty" Elizabeth Bittner, age 101, passed away June 14, 2023 at her residence in Painesville.  She was born March 10, 1922, in Renovo, Pennsylvania to Amos and Sara (Fitzer) Hostrander.

Mary was a nurse and worked for Chase Brass and Copper and Diamond Alkali as a factory nurse and lastly the Painesville Township School System for over 29 years.  She was a member of Fairport Harbor Congregational Church.

Mary enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, many different church groups over the years, volunteering at Hope Chest and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her sons, Grant Bittner and Marc {Bonnie} Bittner; daughter, Donna Bittner; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Rusty) Bergandine, Dawn and Douglas (Ashley Romina}; great grandchild, George Bergandine; and sister, Maxine Bienko.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Bittner in 1999; son, Dean Bittner; her parents, and Louise (Hostrander) Kosher.

Funeral Services will be at Fairport Harbor Congregational Church at 11:00am on Saturday June 24th 2023. The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am before the service.  Internment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
