Mary Elizabeth Brooks Butler departed this earth on June 4th, 2020 at her home in Painesville, Ohio. She was born in Greenville, SC. on October 15, 1943 to James and Ruth Brooks.  Mary was raised by her aunt, Annie Bell Ware Duncan and uncle J C Duncan.  She would call her Big Momma.  Mary was raised with sisters; Christine, Mary Bell, Eva Mae, Betty Lou, Jessie Mae, Patricia, Geneva, Mildred and brother, Julius.

She is survived by her sisters, Betty Crawford, Geneva Robertson and Mildred Rucker; children, Abdul (Zobeida) Muhammad, Samantha Butler (Robert) Marshall, Julius Butler and David Smith; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, with the  funeral service at 11:00 AM.    Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
