MaryJo Gartland, 99, of Willoughby, formerly of Lakewood, Ohio, died on June 10, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born December 6, 1922, in Painesville, Ohio, to Edward and Margaret (Mulqueeny) Gartland.

MaryJo was a woman who cherished her faith and her family. Family meant everything to MaryJo. She was an inspiration to her many friends and family members. Her generous and loving spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched. She will be greatly missed.

A graduate of Lake Erie college in Painesville, Ohio, and Barnard College in NYC, MaryJo worked many years for Ohio Bell before her retirement in 1978.  She enjoyed traveling and photography, documenting milestones in her families' lives

She is survived by her cousins, Margaret Ann Filuta, Jay (Donna) Mulqueeny, Ellen (Doug Paris) Mulqueeny, Colleen (Jeff Kanocz) Mulqueeny Farrell, and Bridget (Bobby) Rositia. She leaves behind her adored second cousins Kyle Farrell, Kurt Farrell, Angela Ross , Jerod Mulqueeny, Madeline Farrell, and Jace Ross

Friends and loved ones are invited to celebrate Mary Jo's life. Mass of Christian Burial will be held June 15, 2022, at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 242 N. State St., Painesville, Ohio 44077.  Interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Painesville.
