Obituary

Michael "Spike" Patrick Corrigan, age 82, of Jefferson, Ohio passed away on February 3, 2024. Michael was born on May 6, 1941, to RV and Frances Corrigan in Painesville, Ohio. He attended Painesville Harvey High School and then went on to spend most of his life in the car sales business making wonderful friends with customers and colleagues. He started his career at Lubrizol and went on to sell his first car on March 10, 1963. He worked for several car dealerships in Northeast Ohio including Lambert Chevrolet and Burton Square Motors. Michael spent his retirement years in Jefferson, Ohio taking care of a 200+ acre farm. He spent his days building trails, mowing grass, organizing barns, tinkering, and enjoying the outdoors. He was an avid water skier and loved any day on the lake when the water was like glass. He was also passionate about teaching family and friends how to water ski. He loved Cleveland sports, especially the Cleveland Browns, and watching football on Sundays with family. He enjoyed telling stories and finding a good deal.

Michael's reach was extensive through his long list of survivors including his children, Jeffrey Corrigan and his daughter Natalie Corrigan; Gregory Corrigan (Kelley) and their children Eugene Corrigan (Holly), Marie Pohl (Kyle), and Alexandra Carter (Cody); Sharon Corrigan (Michael Wertenberger); Michelle Oestrike and her children with Andrew, Wilfred and Corrigan Oestrike; Lindsey Corrigan and her children Candyce and Paul Meyers; son-in-law Kevin Vouk Sr. and his son Kevin Vouk Jr. (Allison); and granddaughter Alyssa Corrigan. Michael is also survived by his siblings Roberta Sowers, Barbara O'Leary (James), and Joseph Corrigan (Carol); six great grandchildren Halley and Anthony Ledbetter, Cameron and Chloe Corrigan, Baker Pohl, and Lainey Vouk; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and loving friends. Michael was preceded in death by his children Tami Vouk and Michael (Tyke) Corrigan, his sister Connie Cannon (Ed), brother-in-law Maynard Sowers, and parents RV and Frances Corrigan.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday February 8th, 2024 from 10:00AM-12:00PM at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville Ohio. Services will begin at 12:00 PM. An internment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Painesville.
