Mildred Ireta
(Benadum) Arnett
September 10, 1925 – October 11, 2021
On October 11, 2021, Mildred Ireta Arnett, 96, passed away in Florida. She died at home surrounded by her family. Mildred succumbed to Alzheimer's with complications. She was born in Painesville, Ohio on September 10, 1925, to Clarence and Ireta (Vogel) Benadum.
Mildred is survived by her children, Ireta Karasek of Texas, grandchild, Calvin (Melissa); Marsha Oaks of Florida, grandchildren, Jeffrey and Matthew; Robert (Sophie) Arnett of Florida, grandchildren, Ken and Kelly. She had 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mildred also had many nieces and nephews, mostly in Ohio, but many are scattered around the country.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and her parents.
Mildred was a life-long member of the Moose Lodge and a big activist for the Council on Ageing. She loved to work at the dining site and calling out the Bingo numbers. She also belonged to the United Methodist Church in Deland, Florida. Mom loved her cats and had many over the years.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 25, 2021, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM before the service. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson, not far from where she was born.
Mildred was loved dearly by all who knew her.
