Monica F. Maslyar, age 80, passed away June 19, 2021, at University Hospitals in Cleveland. She was born September 20, 1940, in Lilly, Pennsylvania to Louis Frank and Josephine Rose (Yarnish) Panek.

Monica was a dedicated wife mother and homemaker. She enjoyed living a rural country lifestyle on her homestead in Leroy Township Ohio. Monica had a particular fondness for dogs and horses but loved animals of all kinds. She also enjoyed spending time in the kitchen indulging her passion for cooking and baking Monica is survived by her sons, Christopher Maslyar and Brian Maslyar; Her sister, Marcelle Cooney, and nieces, Patricia Cooney and Joi Cooney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Maslyar in August of 2008; her parents, and brother, Thomas Panek.

Memorial calling hours will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations in Monica's memory may be sent to the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis at https://www.themiamiproject.org/donate/
