Obituary

Nicholas Austin Jackson, age 24, who was born February 21, 1991 in Tampa, Florida, to Kenneth Sr. and Sandra Jackson, sadly passed away from our physical Earthen Home on Friday, Feb. 19 due to a tragic car accident just outside Phoenix, Arizona. He had just spent a beautiful month and a half with his family in Painesville, Ohio over the winter holidays before following his heart back to Arizona. Nick has lived in Florida, Maryland, Texas, Colorado, Ohio, Georgia briefly, as well as Arizona in his lifetime. He spent over a decade of his life in the Baltimore area, and considered it home most of all. Nick also worked on a ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for a summer. Additionally, Nick traveled to and lived in Ferguson, Missouri for a few months; where his brother-and-sisters-in-arms, Anonymous and local residents protested (and still are) the Michael Brown fallout. When challenged and engaged, Nicholas was an Honor Student in school, however like many bright minds, he became disengaged and annoyed with having to switch schools yet again. Nick made the decision to earn his High School Diploma through Ohio State's Program and tested out of High School. Nick had a love/hate relationship with the food service industry. He truly loved making people laugh and smile. Nick was a skilled bartender, charming waiter, experienced cook, and a respected leader in the industry. Nick helped manage multiple restaurants and had a reputation for being an amazing employee, earning him positions at illustrious restaurants in Maryland, Ohio, and Arizona. Nick's loyalty and resume ensured he could find a job anywhere in the country. Nick was adventurous, loving and caring. He performed many beautiful acts in his shortened life in order to help relieve others with their struggles. Nick had a wide range of passions, including spirituality, social activism, music, philosophy, reiki, yoga, meditation, world religions, quantum mechanics, theoretical physics, politics and so much more. He was a talented writer, a story teller with the gift of gab, a truly natural born leader, who spread love wherever he went. Before devoting his waking hours to revolution, as a child he loved to play video games where he was the hero and saved the world. He flourished, and thoroughly enjoyed the last few years of his life to the fullest. Nick touched many different people's hearts and souls, in so many places and in so many meaningful ways. The night prior to his passing he became an ordained minister, for the sole purpose conducting a marriage ceremony for two of his friends, as part of his mission to continue to spreading love throughout the universe. Nick knew his mission in life was to spread love and help initiate positive change in the world. He was driven to make a change, be it through his words, music, or actions. He desired to create ripples in our world, one at a time, making it a better place to live for all. Nick was a kind, tender hearted man who stood up for what he believed in and practiced what he preached. Nick is survived by his parents, Kenneth Sr. and Sandra, his two older brothers, Travis and Kenny, sister-in-law and wife of Travis, Laura Ann, all of Ohio, Grandmother Mary Lou Jackson and Grandmother Dodi Jackson both of Texas. Nick is also survived by paternal Aunts Kim, Tami, and Jimmy Lou, and several cousins. Nick's extended family, through no bloodlines, were of great importance in his life and will help his immediate family carry on his memory and legacy. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Kenneth Gene Jackson, maternal grandparents, Robert Earl Shepard and Sarah Mae Shepard, and his Uncle Bob Shepard. Nick's Celebration of Life will be Sunday March 6, 2014 at 4:00pm.
