Funeral Services for Norman E. Smith, 70, of Madison, will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 19th at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Family and friends may call, 4:00 - 7:00 PM, Monday, December 18th at the funeral home.  Burial will be in North Madison Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born to George E. and Mary J. (Bartello) Smith, January 28, 1947 in Painesville. He passed away December 14, 2017 at his residence.

Norman served in the U. S. Army and was a member of the Disabled American Vets. He was a district manager for the Cleveland Press. He owned the USA Today newspaper franchise of Lake County. Norman was a lifelong Lake County resident, living in Madison for the past 20 years.  He enjoyed long drives to different places for sightseeing, also scratching off Ohio lottery tickets as a pastime.

Norman is survived by his wife, Joyce A. (Karpa) Smith; daughters, Cheryl Kailburn, and husband Scott of Painesville Township and Sherri Meas, and husband Vaughn of Madison; granddaughters, Britney and Christine Kailburn; Aunt Rose and Uncle Brent Uher.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George E. Smith Jr.
