Funeral services for Percival S. Banfield, age 88, will be 11:00 am Tuesday, Feb 17, 2015 at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave. Painesville with Rev. Jerry Matt officiating. Friends will be received from 5-8 pm Monday, Feb 16, 2015 at the funeral home. A resident of Painesville, Percival was born on June 13, 1926 in Mentor and passed away on February 10, 2015 at the Emeritus at Mentor Assisted Living.

Mr. Banfield served with Company 4-F, United States Marine Corps and was the first person drafted in the State of Ohio. Percival attended Texas A&M Industrial Fire School where he was an Instructor for 10 yrs. and served as Fire Field Safety Director for 2 Yrs. He retired in 1987 as a Fuel Blender and Fire/Rescue Chief of Lubrizol Corp in Wickliffe

A member of Bible Community Church in Mentor where he served on the School Board, Treasurer, and was instrumental in obtaining a trailer housing unit obtained from the south which was used for the church's first class room.

He enjoyed playing Golf, Bowling, and playing softball for the former Whaley's Hardware Team.

Survived by, Daughter, Carol Banfield of Painesville Son, Dale (Julie) Banfield of New York Grandson, Joshua Brothers, William (Ada) Banfield of Chesterland Harry (Barb) Banfield of Leroy, Fred (Donna) Banfield of Chardon

Preceded in death by, Wife, Betty (Harter) Banfield in 2011 Parents, Spencer and Hilda (Collins) Banfield

Interment will be in Mentor Cemetery Contributions in Percival's memory may be made to the Bible Community Church 8600 Lakeshore Blvd, Mentor, OH 44060
