Private graveside services were held for Raymond Grate, age 90, at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.

Raymond was the son of Ted and Lottie (Simmons) Grate born on March 18, 1928 in Ashtabula Ohio.

Raymond ran the ministry program in two nursing homes in Florida for several years.  He was a long-time member of First Assembly of God in Fort Myers, Florida.  Raymond's passion was leading people to the Lord, starting with his wife, Marianne.

Raymond was a crane operator for Chase Brass and Copper for 49 years.  And, he was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.

He is survived by his wife Marianne (Besseny) Grate whom he married on September 4, 1948.

Beloved father of Rebecca L. Grate Jones and Jacquelyn S. Wilka; loving grandfather of Scott Jones, Jeffrey Jones, Matthew Higgins, Michael Higgins, Ethan Jones, Emma Jones, Alyssa Smith and Alayna Smith.

He was preceded in death by his son Richard C. Grate.
