Services for Retta Mae Sippola age 98, will be11:00 am Monday October 26 at Zion Lutheran Church 508 Mentor Ave. Painesville, family and friends may call from 9:00 until 11:00 am at the church. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery Thompson. Retta was born to Andrew and Ethel (Rose) Forchner on December 8, 1916 in Flint Michigan and passed away October 21, 2015 at Blossom Hill Nursing Home in Huntsburg. Retta grew up in Mount Morris MI then moved to Garretsville Ohio in the ninth grade. She later lived in East Clairdon , Middlefield, Thompson and Montville Ohio. Retta graduated from Garretsville where she was the captain of the Girls basketball team and a star player. She was in the restaurant business for 49 years including many years in management when she retired at the age of 92. She was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church in Thompson and a current member of Zion Lutheran Church in Painesville. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, bowling, playing golf, cross country skiing, travelling and watching the Cleveland Indians. She is survived by Sons James (Virginia) Sippola Raymond (Carol) Sippola Robert (Linda) Sippola Daughters, Janice (Fred) Steffens Beth (Len) Zito 10 grand children 17 great grand children Preceded in death by her husband Raymond R.
