Mass of Christian Burial for Rita Ann (Fundermark) Shetina, age 82 will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 3 at the temporary St. Anthony of Padua Church 630 Plum St Street, Fairport Harbor. Friends will be received from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm on Tuesday, September 2 at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 312 Eagle Street, Fairport Harbor. A lifelong resident of Fairport, Rita was born on September 13, 1931. Passed away August 22, 2014 at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland Rita and her family have been fixtures in their hometown where they owned and operated the Fairport Waterfront Store for many years. Rita and her husband Tony were honored with the Outstanding Senior Citizens Award in 2005. Rita will be remembered by most local students for the many years she worked for the Fairport Public Library and McKinley School. She also volunteered her time for much of her children's activities, including Brownie leader, Band Boosters, and later for the Fairport Alumni Group and the Fairport Senior Center. She was also involved with organizing many high school class reunions for her FHS Class of 1949. Rita was a very active member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish with the Alter and Rosary Society and St. Ann's Guild. For over fifteen years she made hundreds of baby bibs for the parish baptisms. Rita was known as an outstanding bookkeeper, seamstress, cook, baker, and cake decorator. Rita also was nicknamed "Dr. Spot" for her amazing ability to remove stains and spills of all kinds. She also read the Cleveland Plain Dealer and Lake County News-Herald cover to cover every morning. Mrs. Shetina is survived by her husband of 63 years Anthony "Tony" of Fairport Harbor. Daughters: Linda (Will) Logan and Christy Randle both of Worthington. Son: Tom (Lee) Shetina of Mentor. Grandchildren: Patrick (Emily) Randle and Luke Randle both from Columbus; Tony Shetina and Rachel Shetina of Mentor. Brothers: Elmer (Phyllis) Fundermark of Lancaster, Ohio, and Melvin (Lucille) Fundermark of Mentor. Nieces and nephews: cousins from the Becka, Fundermark, and Molnar families. Preceded in death by her Parents: Matilda (Becka) and Elmer Fundermark and Helen (Molnar) Fundermark. Her family will miss her dearly, but her memory and recipes will live on for generations, especially her Easter lamb cakes, poppy seed rolls, beles, Texas sheet cake, pork & dumplings and stuffing recipes. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Fairport Public Library or St. Anthony of Padua Church
