Robert E. Connolly (Gunner), 75, of Concord, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2017, at TriPoint Hospital surrounded by his family. Born October 1, 1941, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Grant and Margaret Connolly he lived most of his life in Lake County, Ohio where he was raised by John and Ada Keeney.

Although Gunner was the owner operator of Convoy Tire his most fulfilling job was when he took a position as custodian at Fairport High School where he established a club he called "Gunner's Kids". This was not only very important to Gunner but to several of the students with whom he maintained a relationship right until the end.

He is survived by the love of his life, wife and best friend Sharleen (Burkett) Connolly; daughter, Kelly Connolly:  granddaughter, Joey Lynn Connolly; great grandson, Robert Louis Collins Jr., sisters Dolores (Gene) Adams, Darlene (Dennis) Green, and brothers Warren (Donna) Connolly, Ernie Connolly, Archie Newlin, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters

Friends will be received to attend a memorial service starting at 2:00 and celebration of his life to follow from 2:30- 5 p.m. on January 14, 2017 at Concord Community Center, 7671 Auburn Road, Painesville, Ohio 44077.
