Robert David Essary, age 84, passed away peacefully, June 30, 2020 in Leroy Twp., Ohio.  He was born August 13, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to Lon and Myrtle (Steelman) Essary.

Mr. Essary was a resident of Boyne City, Michigan.  He was a painter and worked for and retired from Boyne Mountain Resorts, Boyne City, Michigan. Mr. Essary served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Robert was a Golden Eagle member of the Boyne City, Michigan Eagles, Order #1583.  He enjoyed camping, cooking, working outdoors and spending time family and friends.

Robert is survived by his daughters; Bernadette Gumsey (Karl), Cynthia Marriage (John, deceased), Pam Flanigan (John) and, grandchildren; Scott Francis (Suzanne), Sarah Woods (Don), Kellie Flanigan, Glen Flanigan, great grandchildren; Shelby Woods, Lydia Woods, Sullivan Francis, Stella Francis, Scarlett Francis, Zach Gumsey, Kyla Gumsey, Lillian Clark and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Jean (Kulisz) parents: Lon and Myrtle Essary brother: Herman Essary (Mary Katherine "Kat") sisters: Charlotte Goolsby and Loretta Rheame daughter: Norma Olesko and granddaughter: Sarah Daniels
