Robert E. Gibbs, age 86, a Concord Twp. resident, passed away on Dec. 17, 2015 at Altercare of Mentor Nursing Home. The son of E. Guy and Hazel (Marqyuart) Gibbs was born on September 4, 1929 in Cleveland. Bob was a 1948 graduate of Thomas W. Harvey High School. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Cochino submarine.

Bob was a developer and home builder in Painesville.

He was a member of First Church of Christ n Painesville, the former Madison Country Club, and Elks Lodge 549 in Painesville.

Survived by, Wife, Evelyn (Eighmy) Gibbs Children, Laurel Gerrick, Guy Gibbs, Daphnae Ginsburg, Stacey Streinberg, and Christopher Gibbs Sister, Cynthia McBride Several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive Preceded in death by, Parents and sisters, Jean Manninen and Phylis Verbic

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff of both Altercare of Mentor and Crossroads Hospice for their care given to Bob during his illness.
