Born on August 24, 1933, he was a lifelong resident of Fairport Harbor. After attending Harding High School, he was employed by Diamond Shamrock at the Painesville Twp. plant for 27 years until it closed in 1977. He retired from Lonza Chemical in 1998.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years, Joanne (Jones); children Debra (Hugh) Larick, JoDee (Toby) Dunlap, and Robert (significant other, Cathy) Kessler; grandchildren Kristal (Joe), Damian (Rachel), Miranda (Jeremiah), Jennifer (Jamel), Matt (Nicole), Steven, Robert and Michael (Elyse); great-grandchildren Jaret, Mia, Kennedi, Jayda, Jordyn, Brayden, Mikey and Alex; brothers William (Helen) Kessler, Joseph (Barbara) Kessler; sister Betty (Latona); as well as many dear nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary (Bagen) Kessler and sister Mary (Burns).

He loved the outdoors being an avid fisherman, hunter and water skier. He also relished working in his flower garden. He enjoyed dancing, ice and roller skating and walking his granddog. "Grandfather" especially cherished coloring and playing hide-and-seek with his great-grandchildren.

He volunteered 12 years of service to the Fairport Mardi Gras as an electrician.

He had a kind heart and would always come to the aid of friends and loved ones in need of assistance. He also had a great sense of humor.

As Bob wished there will be no formal funeral services. A celebration of Bob's life will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Mulqueeny-Spear Funeral Home, 312 Eagle Street, Fairport Harbor, OH 44077.
