Obituary

Robert D. Kuhta SR, 83, passed away peacefully on January 13th, 2023, at Tripoint Medical Center in Concord, Ohio. Robert was born on October 25th, 1939, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. The son of John and Dorothy Kuhta.

Robert "Bob" Kuhta served proudly in the United States Marine Corps and Army between 1959 and 1963, earning a Good Conduct Medal. Bob was a man of many talents who enjoyed participating in Republican political activism at both local & National levels, spending time with his wife, close friends, and family at Hundley Cellars, supporting the Cleveland Browns and Indians, giving back to the community & those in need, and serving faithfully as an usher every week at St Gabriel Church in Concord, Ohio.

Bob spent over thirty years working at ABB automation (formerly Bailey Controls), where he met his loving wife, Jackie. Bob owned a landscaping company and was a successful small business owner. Bob was a proud member of and leader within the AMVETS and The Chagrin River Salmon Association. In addition, Bob took pride in looking after small animals and wildlife.

Friends and family can easily describe Bob as someone who constantly had a story to tell and a joke to crack. Bob loved those around him deeply, especially his family, and played practical jokes on those he loved the most. There was never a dull moment around Bob. Bob was the only person who would drive 40 MPH on 70 MPH roads and proudly receive moving violation tickets for it. Born in a generation not devoted to technology, Bob refused to own a cellular phone or laptop and never succumbed to a world of evolving technology. Bob constantly carried cash "just in case the credit card doesn't work." Bob cherished his humble roots and childhood home of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, visiting his close friends and family as much as possible. Bob never took for granted the memories and life events he experienced from day one. Bob was also an avid coin, coat, and memorabilia collector.

Bob is survived by Jackie, his loving and faithful wife of 24 years, his sister Sondra Kelember; five loving children: Cheryl Kuhta-Sutter (Jody Sutter) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Dawn Marie Birk (Aaron Birk) of Brandon, Florida, Jeff Thompson (Marion Thompson) of Madison, Ohio, John Thompson (Des Thompson) of Mentor, Ohio, and Robert Kuhta (Gina Kuhta) of Charlotte, North Carolina: fourteen grandchildren, Mackenzie, Nolan, Aidan, JT, Heather, Caleb, Nathanael, Amanda, Rachel, Zach, Wyatt, Madison, Devante, and Joshua: and two great-grandchildren, Charlotte & Lincoln.
