Robert N. Waite, age 84, passed away on September 5, 2026. He was born June 27, 1942, in Fairport Harbor, Ohio to Harrison Waite and Helen (Magyar) Waite.
Bob is survived by his wife, Frances Waite; his sons, Gregory (Jackie) Waite, Gary (Susan) Waite, Dennis Waite, Rick (Nikki) Waite and daughters, Melissa Waite and Diane Waite;14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, his brother, Brian Waite and sister, Debbie (Ford) Behm.
Bob was adored and cherished by his stepchildren, Scott (Monica) Bayus, Denise (Chuck) Story, and Mia (Brian) Moore, and was Grandpa Bob to Jacob, Ethan, Seth, Alex, Lauren, Destin and Sarah (deceased).
He was preceded in death by his son, David and daughter Gail and his loving parents.
Bob worked at Lincoln Electric for many years and was at one time president of the Lincoln Employees Association. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fairport Harbor. Bob was an avid golfer, and a staple at Rich Lanes in Fairport, winning many bowling tournaments, and he loved to travel. Bob loved his Cleveland sports and playing cards at the Senior Center. He was also a member and president of the Hungarian Culture Club and a member of the Elks and Slovenia Clubs. Bob was Captain at the fire station in Fairport Harbor in the '60s till 1973. More recently he was a volunteer at the Fairport Lighthouse which he loved doing.
Friends will be received 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM, on Monday, September 14, 2026, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fairport Harbor. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
