Robert John Nicely, age 58, passed away on October 10, 2026, in Concord Township, Ohio. He was born on July 16, 1968, in Painesville, Ohio, to Danny and Eleanor Nicely.
Rob graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in military history. He worked as a Project Manager at Lake Business Products for over 22 years and always enjoyed exploring the newest technology and gadgets. Despite his enthusiasm for the latest innovations, he remained loyal to his CD collection and had no intention of giving it up for streaming. He was especially disappointed to discover that his new car didn't come equipped with a CD player. Rob was known for his dry, sarcastic sense of humor and his knack for delivering the perfect one-liner. His quick wit was unmistakably Rob and made him memorable to everyone who knew him. Above all, Rob was an involved and supportive father who showed his love by being there. He made it a priority to attend every school activity, always making sure his children knew he was there to support them. Rob enjoyed watching football, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns, and spending time working in his yard.
Robert is survived by his wife, Donna (Fox) Nicely; mother, Eleanor Nicely; sons, Fox Nicely and Joshua Cox; daughter, Kristy (Randall) Lorenz; grandchildren, Corbin Lorenz and Nora Lorenz; brother, Russell (Brenda) Nicely and sisters, Barb Nicely (Dale Reed) and Linda Nicely (Don Cook).
He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Nicely.
Family and friends will be received 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 7:00 PM.
