Rollin "Ish"
Krul
October 10, 1928 – October 30, 2015
Funeral services for Rollin "Ish" Krul, 87, of Painesville, will be 11am on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, 508 Mentor Ave., Painesville. The only child of Paul and Lois (Snedden) Krul was born October 10, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away October 30, 2015 in Vero Beach, Florida. After graduating from high school, Ish served in the United States Army in post-war Japan. Upon returning to Cleveland, he began work for Ohio Bell. Ish married Elizabeth Balla in 1949 at Zion Lutheran Church in Painesville. They had two daughters, Cheryl and Lisa. He would continue to work for Ohio Bell until his retirement in 1993. His "retirement" kept him busy with amateur radio, caning chairs, and golfing. Ish and Betty also participated in wine clubs and traveled. He was also active in the Ohio Bell Chorus and Lakeland Civic Choir. Ish was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Painesville where he sang in the choir, served as President of church council, and Sunday School superintendent. It was through the church that he developed rich lifelong relationships that supported his faith. Survivors are his daughter, Lisa (Alan) DeFrances of Vero Beach, FL.; granddaughter, Kelly (Craig) Mitchell of Oak Park, IL; and great granddaughter, Hannah Mitchell. Ish was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; his daughter, Cheryl Paulett; and his parents. Friends will be received from 5-8 pm on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Zion Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
