Rose Ann (Lambert) Firestone, age 89, passed away August 23, 2026, in Concord Township. She was born February 2, 1937, in Scioto Furnace, Ohio to Elmer (Dan) Faulkner and Avanelle (Smith) Faulkner. Leroy Township has been her residence since 1960.
Rose Ann worked at Cedar Hills - a Catholic Diocese retreat and as a cafeteria lady at Auburn Road School (LaMuth) for many years.
Rose Ann graduated from South Webster High School and would make the trip every year to attend the class reunions. Rose Ann was very active in the community and a member of many social clubs, such as the Leroy Garden Club, Red Hats, Leroy Grange, and Leroy Heritage Association just to name a few. She was also an active member of the Painesville Senior Center where she joined her friends for lunch every Friday and loved shopping in the Attic Treasures room. When the Painesville Senior Center closed, she was not to be stopped and Rose Ann joined the Fairport Senior Center. She enjoyed many things at the Senior Center including having coffee; visiting with friends and always being sure she filled out her raffle tickets. She also went to Painesville McDonald’s every day to have coffee with her friends.
Rose Ann was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was raised to come running when her father would whistle and she kept that tradition alive with her own children. She would send them outside to play and whistle when it was time to come in. She loved to whistle for her grandchildren and at her neighbors to say “Hello”. Not only was Rose Ann an expert whistler, but she could yodel as well. She would yodel and sing songs with her grandkids as they played Chinese checkers and rummy together. Rose Ann always loved playing cards and taught her kids to play poker.
She loved playing softball, badminton and blowing bubbles with Rose, Dale and Rita. She watched them play softball in the yard as well as on the Leroy softball teams. She loved being involved with her kids and was a member of the PTCC which was similar to the PTO. She was a homeroom mother every year and went on many field trips with her kids.
As her children grew, she continued to spend time with them and join in their interests. She went to the bars and joined them on nights out. She would drink tomato juice and dance all night long. Rose Ann loved listening to Blue Grass and Country music and would go to the music concerts in the park with Rita every Thursday night.
Rose Ann is survived by her children, Rose (Sheldon) Gelman, Marvin Dale (Karen) Lambert, Rita (Dick Tanner) Lambert; grandchildren, Jonathan Gelman, Katherine Gelman, Patricia (Chris) Walter, Marvin Dale Lambert Jr., Rebecca Lambert; Four great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joyce Faulkner, and her second husband, Clarence Wheeler.
