(Cardina) Shupp
April 17, 1932 – February 18, 2026
Rose M. Shupp, age 93, passed away February 18, 2026, at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland. A life-time resident of Painesville, Rose was born April 7, 1932, in Painesville
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Fairport Harbor. Rose was a lifetime member of the Women's Auxiliary VFW #7754 in Fairport. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #336 in Painesville, the Fairport Senior Citizen's Center, the American Slovenian Club in Fairport and the Pompeii Society.
Rose attended St. Mary School and was a 1950 graduate of Thomas W. Harvey High School. She was on the planning committee for all the class reunions.
Rose retired in 1994 after seventeen years as an Administrative Secretary, from Avery Dennison (Fasson). She also worked twenty-four plus years at IRC Fibers (formerly the Industrial Rayon Corporation) as secretary in the Engineering Department.
Rose was full of life and enjoyed dancing, bowling, gardening, cooking, and baking. She loved jigsaw and crossword puzzles and enjoyed playing Bocci at the American Slovenian Club. Rose had many friends and will be sadly missed.
Rose married her husband, Richard E. Shupp February 12,1955, at St. Mary Church in Painesville, where she was a member for many years.
She is survived by her sister, Jerry Moritz; sisters-in-law, Margaret (Gavelda) Cardina and Karen Cadwell, her best friend. Rose was a loving Aunt to Michael J. Moritz, Jeanne (Stan) Dobrzeniecki, Linda (Lee) Miller, Alan Shupp, James Evans, Anna Cadwell, Scott Cadwell, as well as many other nieces, nephews and their families. She was also a loving Great Aunt to Keri (Dobrzeniecki) Kish and Jamie Lee Miller (McElroy). She adored her great-great niece and nephew, Rylee Marie Kish and Evan Michael Kish.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Richard, in 2021; her parents, Rocco N. and Antoinette (Stinziano) Cardina; sisters, Nancy (Sulo) Oinonen, Lucille (Anthony) Komendat; and brothers, Joseph Cardina and James (Lee) Cardina.
Friends will be received 4:00 – 6:00 PM, Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. A Memorial Mass for Rose will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 12, 2026, at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Fairport Harbor. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Private Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Painesville at a later date.

Rose was so grateful for the trust and compassionate care she received from Bill and Adam, Visiting Angels, Reserve Hospice, U. H. Tri Point and Concord Village.
