Obituary

Memorial services for Russell M. Schupp, age 90, a Grand River resident, will be 11:00 am Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church 508 Mentor Ave. Painesville with Rev. Jimmy Riley officiating. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Monday at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave. Painesville. The son of Lewis and Harmony (Lewis) Schupp was born on August 1, 1924 in Kirtland. He passed away on November 5, 2014 at Lake Med Nursing Home in Painesville.

A member of Zion Lutheran Church in Painesville

Mr. Schupp volunteered for the American Field Service with the British 8th Army during World War II where he drove an ambulance. He worked for the News-Herald and former Painesville Telegraph as a Linotype Operator.

Russell diligently raised his family, made toys for his children and was very active in church activities, He also enjoyed camping with his family. He loved to make people laugh.

Russell was honored by placing a wreath at the site of the Tomb of the Unknown at Arlington National Cemetery during his "Honor Flight" trip to Washington, D.C.

Survived by, Wife, Gertrude (Ryskamp) Schupp, whom he married on April 18, 1952 Daughters, Christine (Daniel) Wilson of Painesville Twp. Janice (Carl) Brown of Leroy Twp. Rachel (David) Parsons of Painesville Brother, Lewis John (Lorraine) Schupp of Kirtland Grandchildren, Seth Bodak, Sarah Bilicic, Adam Bodak, C.J. Brown, Andrew Brown, Lauren Iarussi, and Hannah Parsons 5 Great Grandchildren

Preceded in death by, Daughter, Annette Schupp Parents 2 Sisters, Claire Olson and Helen Wright
