Sandra R. Trayter, age 86, passed away July 27, 2022, at Tri Point Medical Center in Concord Township.  She was born December 25, 1935, in Painesville to Francesco "Frank" Chiappone and Carmella (Pace) Chiappone.

Sandy was a 1953 graduate of Harvey High School.  She worked for the Lake Hospital Systems as a secretary for the Nursing Program.  She also worked for the Lake County WIC Program.  She enjoyed quilting, baking, reading, and loved watching sports.  She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's events.

Sandy is survived by her son, James (Amanda) Trayter; grandchildren, Samuel Trayter and Dana Trayter; sister, Mary Margaret "Peggy" Chiappone; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Trayter in 2009; daughter, Anne Trayter; brothers, Thomas Chiappone and Charles Chiappone; sister, Angela Schupska; and her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 242 North State Street, Painesville, Ohio.  Family and friends will be received from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
