Scott Michael Ockington, age 50, passed away unexpectedly April 8, 2015 at his home. He was born May 17th, 1964 in Lakewood, Ohio. A graduate of Mentor High School, class of 1982, Scott was graduated from Ohio University in 1987 where he earned a BS in Marketing. Scott formerly resided in the Columbus and Chicago areas before settling back in Mentor. Scott was a multiple-star athlete at Mentor in football and wrestling, star linebacker at CWRU before transferring to Ohio University and a sports fanatic throughout his lifetime. He loved his Ohio State Buckeyes! Scott also studied the martial arts for many years and was a three-time national Tae Kwon Do champion.

Scott is survived by his fiancé, Lisa Lauderback, parents, Bill and Audriene Ockington and brothers James (April) Ockington and Doug (Chris) Covert. He was preceded in death by his parents Jeanene and Al Covert and son Michael Ockington.

The family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Scott from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Memorial services will follow at 7:00 pm.
