Sheila Beth Barker, age 42, passed away May 11, 2023, at Tri Point Medical Center in Concord Township. They say the brightest stars burn out the fastest, and she definitely shined bright!  She was known for her first born bossiness, gardening, photography and bug collection. Her love of gnarly medical procedures made her a dedicated, and popular, UH employee and medical professional.

She was born January 9, 1981, in Orlando, Florida. She is preceded in death by Richard Durl Barker (father), Jackie Harless (mother-in-law), and Richard Harless (father-in-law.) She leaves behind an intriguingly dysfunctional family that she was very proud of: Chris Harless (husband), Lynn Barker (mother), Garret and Melinda Barker (brother and sister-in-law), Ivey Barker (sister), and Alexis Barker and Joseph Gallo (sister and brother-in-law), and Rich Harless (brother-in-law.) Seriously, we could have our own reality TV show!

Her love and support for her boys, Elijah Harless (14) and Brenden Harless (18), can only be described as "fantical tom-boy cheerleader." If she wasn't taking photos of their extracurricular activities, then she was showing her support with her eardrum bursting whistle.

Her undeniable green thumb made up for her less-than-stellar cooking skills; kudos to Chris for keeping her well fed for over 20 years. Her fashion sense was equally memorable, routinely rocking her signature bathrobe and wellies combination.

All who loved her will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, generosity, and creativity. A 'Celebration of Life' will be held instead of a service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center in her honor. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the outpouring of love and support.
